Thanks to over 14,231 supporters who have signed my petition.
The Deccan Herald published an interesting news article this week that describes how BBMP limits expand by 4 sq km as govt adds five villages. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is the administrative body responsible for civic amenities and some infrastructural assets of the Greater Bangalore metropolitan area.
What this means for landowners like my family is simple – The land-sharks and vultures have begun circling, looking for land to ‘take over’ in villages around Bangalore.
I have also been following stories in the media on this topic. Here is a link to 10 recent stories that highlight the inner workings of the Revenue Department in Bengaluru, Karnataka
The delay in registering the paperwork is clearly a case of "Justice delayed... justice denied." This despite an order from High Court that asks officials to “Clear appeals for khata, RTC within 3 months.”
I had posted how our land is already being encroached by unknown persons who are rearing buffalos. (Video of site visit below) The ploy seems devious but simple – continue rearing the animals on the land and eventually build a ‘structure’ and claim the rights by hook-or-crook.
We need to ensure we get the #LandRegistration on time to protect our property rights. I am hoping that this petition and the legal paperwork my lawyer has filed in the Bengaluru DC Court yields fruit soon.
