WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!! Elementary start time at 8:30!

We have some wonderful news!!! Last night, the Lake Oswego School Board unanimously approved the start time schedule with the recommended start/end times as follows: Elementary - 8:30am - 2:55pm HighSchool - 8:25am - 3:30pm Middle School - 9am - 3:56pm Strings will be after school from 3:15ish - 4:15ish (details are being ironed out) We are thrilled that the board listened to our proposal and approved a schedule that is reasonable for ALL the children of our district. Making safety and rest a top priority is a win for LO students and families. THANK YOU to everyone who signed the petition, shared your thoughts, wrote letters, and shared on FB. It made a huge difference to the board to know that over 350 families felt strongly about an 8:30am start time. If you get a chance, please thank the board, Dr. Beck, and Dr. Musick directly. You can write a letter or share on FB, but we want them to know that we appreciate them considering our concerns and ultimately finding a solution for ALL students of Lake Oswego. We will continue to share updates as we know more. We know that there are still concerns about Strings and those conversations are ongoing. There will be a program, but the details of exact timing and how it will work are still being discussed. We sincerely appreciate your support and help.
