News Article about the start times

Hi Everyone, We attended the school board meeting on the 18th and the Task Force gave their report. Please see the article attached for more information. The current recommendation has the elementary schools starting at 7:50am and getting out at 2:15pm. We would like to push this a bit later. We are working with the school board to see if we can reduce the bus expenses and have everyone start at a reasonable time. We are also evaluating the costs of moving the strings program, lighting for the fields, etc to compare to the bus costs. Hopefully this will give us a better idea of how we can make this work for all the students in the district. Please continue to share the petition and get support. By signing the petition, no one is saying they don't agree that our secondary schools could be moved later, they just don't want to sacrifice the elementary schools in the meantime. Remind them that this is not a battle against the secondary schools, but rather a way to see if we can come up with a schedule that is in everyones best interest. Thanks!
