In an effort to start 2021 off on the right foot, I thought I'd share some good news with you!
On Nov. 18th, I petitioned to the Lake Oswego Transportation Advisory Board to implement the Rail Road Quiet Zone and all board members were in favor! So, what comes next?
Our Senior Traffic Engineer has completed the first step, which is contacting the Federal Railroad Administration to notify them of intent. The next step is to reach out to PNWR (who operates on the tracks) and ODOT to coordinate a diagnostic review of all crossing in the proposal. The review will allow the city to have a better understanding of exactly what improvements would need to be made at each crossing in order to achieve a RRQZ status. I'll continue to keep you updated here as I know more.
Thank you all for signing the petition as it definitely helped urge the Transportation Advisory Board to further review the RRQZ.
Happy NYE!
