Richard Benzel, who lives in Stonehenge across from the Tebo property,  and I had a good meeting with city officials last week. We presented a list of all 2050 signatures, including all 700 tax paying and voting Lafayette residents  who had signed. We also presented them with all of the comments that had been posted on the petition.

There was no “slam dunk“ moment where the city officials exclaimed “oh my goodness we have to stop this project“. However, we Left the meeting with a sense that at least some city officials understand all of the negatives associated with a massive new development on that corner.

As usual the best thing we all can do is get more signatures on the petition, particularly voting citizens of Lafayette. We are approaching the point where the number of Lafayette citizens opposed to this project could make a material difference in city council elections.
