The Uptown Carriage Tours, on 2nd Avenue, in Memphis, is in poor condition. The living condition is disgusting and the horses are treated inhumane. Some are skinny and their coats are dirty. These horses live out in the mud, without grass to allow them to graze. They have no shelter for them to get under or in to, due to multiple horses on such a small lot, and a small barn with the inability to accommodate each horse. What happened to one horse per acre of land and plenty of grass to graze or an adequate amount of hay every day? Or blankets to keep them warm? There have been many complaints, as well as a fallen horse, down in the street, this past summer, due to exhaustion, per the News station and Facebook. This place needs to be closed down or purchase a larger piece of land to accommodate the poor horses. It is a shame a horse has to lay down in the mud! They have to work hard in the heat and very cold weather. Please have some consideration nd appreciation for what they do for you to earn your living.
