Sheriff seems to backing off, now LA City rushes motion that criminalizes

Hi everyone,

Thank you all to helping put pressure to stop the criminalization by the Sheriff. Your calls, signatures, and emails made a difference. We got calls back from both the Mayor's office and that of LA County Supervisors pledging not to support Sheriff Villanueva.

However LA City is rushing a motion that reboots the cycle of criminalization. Please call your City Councilmember and ask that they oppose this motion and if possible, join the rally downtown.

The pandemic made is clear how the lack of public or affordable housing leads to people living on the street. Criminalization didn't solve the problem in the 30 years prior and it won't help in the years ahead.
