INHUMANE CONDITIONS at LA City and LA County Pounds, as usual. Suffering w/o a voice. Their faces say it all.  Already down on their luck, these poor souls ended up at a Waste Management Facility posing as an Animal Shelter.

While pound workers stay warm and dry during the rainstorms, and the LA City and County Pound staff hid in their usual hideaway all day…the dogs’ cages were flooded, w/nowhere dry to sit/sleep - not even for Sleepy, who is sick with an Upper Respiratory Infection.

It was the volunteers, as usual, buying and installing a tarp to keep the rain out at the South Los Angeles Animal Pound, sweeping away the flooding water to no avail - giving out blankets only to have them soaked, again.

Where was staff? If they feed and half-ass clean all day, that would be 4 visits. But nothing but hid from the rain. Rainstorm after rainstorm and they all do nothing but sit and wait to kill their next victim.

Enough with the “short staff” excuse that they use as an excuse for EVERYTHING. You know why? Bc no one calls them on the BS. They use it to get away with neglecting, abusing, and killing homeless pets. And the Mayor, City officials, County Board members including the useless, title-chasing Animal Commissioners, let them get away with it. They ALL know a out the inhumane conditions. They’ve seen the pics, read the emails…

Let’s recap some of the worst offenses, (aka crimes) including the law violations and misappropriation of donations, shall we? (*there’s ZERO accountability, esp to the law, that’s why they get away w/it)

Inhumane conditions, dogs in feral cages and rolling carts, dogs never getting out of their kennels then killed, no bed/blanket/toys, cats never get out of their cages, feces covered floors and beds, euthanizing w/o anesthesia, surgeries w/o anesthesia, leaving animals without medical care then killing them, not cleaning kennels in between dogs, no water, no shade from the roasting sun and rain, hosing dogs down in their kennels then killing them for “aggressive” behavior, killing for space ALL THE TIME, marking house cats feral bc they’re scared, not enforcing the spay and neuter law, not prosecuting animal abusers and letting them adopt again, selling over 19,000 breeder/intact licenses, over 399 animals MISSING after they entered the Pounds, spending donations of staff pizza parties-all expense paid trips to Vegas-New Orleans, spending $15 in donations for uniform cleaning, $23k in donations for leadership classes, $1.54 MILLION in donations given to a little known comp named The Glue Inc. who charged $30,000 for a free online logo, $90,000 for website pics when they’re $200 stock photos online, firing and retaliating against whistleblowers-esp volunteers (19 fired so far), medical animals and seniors inside the medical dept with no water-food-bed, lying about animals being aggressive so they can kill them, keeping the appointment system-blocking the public from adopting and wasting government tax dollars…and so much more.

All while the incompetent, lying Poundmaster, Annette Ramirez, works from home, making more than Gavin Newsom, the Governor. And Director Marcia Mayeda who spends more time talking about Unicorns than helping our abandoned animals. I only wish I was joking.
