Heartbreakingly, six days after the massive 7.8 earthquake struck, our partner team says it can hear the plaintive cries of trapped animals underneath the rubble in quake-stricken areas of Turkey.
The barking of dogs, meowing of cats and cooing of birds accompany the cries of trapped people - our partner has rescued dogs, cats, birds and even a sheep.
Countless thousands of animals are homeless and injured, waiting forlornly for humans to rescue them…
Network For Animals has rushed emergency funding to their partner HAYTAP (Hayvan Hakları Federasyonu), but so much more needs to be done!
To make matters worse, it is the middle of winter in Turkey, and emergency animal rescue teams are battling severe weather in some areas to get to the quake zones. A big fear now is that surviving animals may succumb to hypothermia and frostbite because of freezing temperatures.
The animals DESPERATELY need veterinary medicines, food, pet transporters and blankets.
Animal lovers here in Southern California, these animals will not survive without help. They DESPERATELY NEED YOUR HELP NOW!
