He came in with a CHAIN AROUND HIS NECK so tight they needed BOLT CUTTER to get it off. Ranger was once a cute puppy back yard bred now a thrown away not fixed dog about to become another statistic.

Today at SOUTH LA SHELTER (I posted this but am not seeing so posting again). A dog in outside kennels “Ranger” owner surrender- was having a seizure when I walked by cage. So I ran to get “help”. THIS is what’s it’s like to have a medical problem at our LA city shelters— AND this shelter is where the OFFICE of “Head” VET JEREMY PRUPAS is supposedly at work. Despite the recent media focus on LAAS please feel the love in this cage - the “boredom busting “ toys. The nice bed with blanket. The clean as a pin cage. Oh and the vet care.

Nobody ever came in the next 20 min I was at shelter. I requested CPRA to see if he got medically looked at that day. It was so hard to not be able to comfort him or see any staff even care.

Note that the “intake” door is locked shut 20 min before closing

PLEASE send this to Dakota Smith and Melissa Gomez at the LA Times. They wrote the recent exposés about LAAS. And Kenneth Mejia, who's running against Paul Koretz for LA City Controller.

Where exactly is this shelter? I want to help this dog.

Natascha Wilczek South LA Shelter in LA. Possibly the worst of the 6 city shelters. It’s a dumping ground with hardly any adopters. It’s full to capacity. They have dogs now sitting in intake cages there are not even proper kennels left (not that they are so great but bigger than a cage).
