I finally started receiving information about what the L.A. County Board of Supervisors KNEW before the animal pound doors were permanently closed to OPEN ACCESS. This is all by design in an effort to provide LESS SERVICE to Los Angeles County. 

THEIR VISION

• Decrease overall intake of animals by 30% over the next year

• Work within the ACC Capacity for optimal animal housing

• Less animals in the ACC allows for staff to practice social distancing

• Fewer animals means better individualized care for each animal

• Have the best possible outcome for each animal taken into the DACC system.

• Enable staff to take time needed to safely attend to each animal

• Create a safer space for staff and our customers

• Increase staff availability for improved customer service

• This will lead to better placement of animals in the most suitable homes.

• Create a less stressful and more fulfilling environment for staff

ALL THE SUPERVISORS KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN.

BEFORE they CLOSED THEIR DOORS, Janice Hahn KNEW! And guess what, Janice Hahn put forth a motion to get an update on the progress from Marcia Mayeda when she had already they had intended to block the public from accessing the animals? #JANICEKNEW

Janice Hahn KNEW LOS ANGELES COUNTY ANIMAL POUNDS were going to turn away the public and stop animals in need from receiving the care they needed.
