I have just been notified the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control facilities are trying to change things up before our PROTEST. They are telling volunteers that on August 1st they'll be introducing a new program that improves access to the adoptable animals in our animal pounds. I've previewed this new program and it still turns people away who happened to 'drop by' the animal pound.

Until they FULLY REOPEN the animal pounds, we are going to be tracking the SUCCESS or FAILURES of their efforts. That being said, I need your help to SAVE THE ANIMALS. At tomorrow's protest, I'm asking people who do not want to hold signs stating to 'OPEN THE SHELTERS' to instead track what's happening at the pounds. If you can't attend the protest, you can help us at ANY POINT until the shelters reopen. Track ANYTIME the animal pounds report to be OPEN. Remember, our TAX DOLLARS keep these animal pounds open. So why aren't they FULLY OPEN if I can go to Disneyland or Universal Studios?

To participate in our new tracking system, you must use your Google account. Simply stop by your County animal care and control facility. Log into your our tracking system. Count the numbers of cars, people, doggies and kitties going in and out of the pound, how many people are turned away, etc. Our tracking survey is currently ACTIVE so you can begin tracking RIGHT NOW. If you plan to survey, you can text me at 213-948-3165 and let me know you are participating. If you are an employee or volunteer at L.A. County Animal Care and Control, you can also fill out our Tracking Survey anonymously. Maybe you are sitting at work and are sad that no one is showing up to save the animals. YOU CAN HELP SAVE THE ANIMALS NOW IN AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT WAY.
