Return Butters to his rightful owner Maegan Chen

Return Butters to his rightful owner Maegan Chen
The Issue
Maegan Chen put out a desperate plea to have an individual or rescue help her with emergency care for her dog on May 11, 2019. I first learned of this when a fellow online group member put up a screenshot of her plea asking people to please help so she could not only save her dog but not have to give him up. Immediately I called the vet and donated directly. As the next 24 hours evolved this went from a let’s help Maegan save her dog campaign to forcing Maegan to sign over her dog before they would agree to use crowd sourced funds that had been raised to save him. Under duress she signed being told either she signed him away or they would let him die. I’m not sure about you but in a desperate situation I too would do about anything to save my dogs. The reality is over 263 people donated, many of whom would like to see the dog returned to him owner. I personally even offered to pay Mr. Swanson for any personal funds he put in that would not be reimbursed by the Go Fund Me so Maegan could have her dog that she has raised since puppy hood and was told “It will never happen.” That is not altruistic kindness, it is someone pretending to do a good thing when in fact they want something in return. In this case someone else’s beloved pet. When this started it was supposed to be doing what was best for Butters. Being with the family he loves and who love his is what is best for the dog.
One more point of clarification, when the funds were raised on GoFundMe and in countless online posts, these two stated Butters would be going into rescue. In fact, he isn’t. They intend to keep him themselves. MANY donated believing they were helping a rescue when in fact no rescue is involved. There are countless points that are contradictory and many things that have transpired that clearly show that the efforts taken have not been altruistic or transparent. I had huge respect for these two when they stepped up to “help” but what has transpired since makes be sick to my stomach. These are not good people, doing a good thing. They have manipulated a tragic situation in hopes of personal gain in the form of accolades and to take a dog from his rightful owner under the guise of being with or working with a rescue. Let’s let them know it isn’t ok and that we’d like Butters returned to his family.
