We want to keep Ridgewood High School and would like to see it remain within our community!

Pasco County School Board has made a hasty decision to close down Ridgewood High School in New Port Richey, Florida. They are trying to do this without proper notice or adequate time for parents, teachers and students to take appropriate measures. There’s only one semester left and they have not officially notified the parents that the school is closing and which schools the students will be able to attend. 

This has crushed the dreams students have had about attending and graduating from their hometown high school. They have also made this decision without adequately securing space at the surrounding schools. 

They want to send approximately 1100 students and split them between two schools that are already overcrowded (Gulf and FIVAY).  This has had a negative impact on the students, their parents and teachers. There’s not a good reason to make the students travel hours across the county to schools they don’t want to go to so far away from their hometown. 

Instead of giving up on this school, we would like to reinvest in it and make it great again!
