Justice for Yazidi Women

The Issue

More than three years ago ISIS/Daesh began a killing spree committing genocide against ethnic and religious minorities in the Kurdistan region. They also captured and tortured thousands of young women and children. We know by first hand accounts of the torture, rapes, sexual abuse and sex trafficking of the Yazidi women and children. We know of first hand accounts of young girls being sold to multiple men for as little as 1USD multiple times. We know women who have been raped and have given birth to babies of Daesh. Some of these babies have been kept by Daesh. There are still more than 3,000 Yazidi girls missing. There are fathers, brothers, and sons unaccounted for. There is documentation of many mass graves that have been located throughout the region.

Approximately 1,000 - 1,500 Daesh have recently been reported to have been taken into custody by the Peshmerga and coalition forces. We demand justice for the Yazidi women and children. The Yazidi women and children who have come back from captivity should be given the opportunity to identify the perpetrators face to face and have justice served for these crimes against humanity.
