Students come to and from school every day and as parents, we want to make sure that our children are getting to school safely.  At Discovery School #67 @ 911 Abbott Rd. in Buffalo, traffic in front of the school can be an issue at the beginning of the day and at the end of the day.  At times, cars do not follow the posted 15 mph speed limit.  The crossing guard can only do so much.  Parents and students have had close calls with oncoming traffic during the morning and afternoon.  For the safety of all, I am asking that a High-Intensity Activated Crosswalk be considered.  In my opinion, this stretch of road would benefit from this type of crossing.  Students would be safer, parents would be appreciative, and the Discovery School staff would see this as an assistance to their daily routine.
