Removal of CEO Duane Law and Director of Community Services Cherylle Mallinson

Removal of CEO Duane Law and Director of Community Services Cherylle Mallinson
The Issue
For the following reasons:
1- No confidence vote in the CEO already presented to the Board of Directors by parents, staff and vendors.
2- Both of these individuals lack the leadership skills required to successfully carry out their duties as shown by complaints and protests from staff, forcing DDS to place a consulting DDS team on site to monitor the activities at KRC and taking away their ability to make staff related decisions.
3- Both of these individuals have consistently shown to be against what is stipulated in the Lanterman Act.
4- Reports from DDS show low morale among the staff due to lack of leadership. This low morale has resulted in multiple valuable and experienced employees leaving KRC which has impacted the service provided to the clients. Many clients are without a caseworker for months at a time.
5- Both of these individuals have failed to establish collaborative relationships with KRC stakeholders.
6- Both of these individuals have failed to make decisions in a timely manner and in the best interest of the clients.
7- Failure to efficiently approve vendor contracts in a timely manner has diminished the amount of services available to clients and in some cases, delaying urgently needed treatment.
