Good news to share - the attorney for the landlord of the property has sent a registered letter to gun shop owner (NOVA Firearms) stating the landlord's intention to sever the contract! Bad news to share - local residents report that work continues in the former Curves location, indicating the gun shop owner's intention to open in August. We've made great progress, but we can't stop now! Please continue voicing your concerns about the gun shop opening. Contact the landlord (he operates HairVogue in the same shopping plaza), the gun shop owners (website lists phone number as (703) 448-4826), and our local elected officials to let them know you oppose the gun shop opening. Ask your neighbors to get involved and to sign the petition. Arlingtonians just selected the two candidates for County Board elections in November - Katie Cristol and Christian Dorsey. They are both on record in opposing the gun shop opening, but hearing from voters in an upcoming election would be good too.
