Support for the petition continued to grow over the weekend, with 1,801 supporters as of this morning! A few developments to share: - I am hoping to meet with the property owner Wednesday morning. My intent is to share with him concerns of having a gun store located so close to neighborhood schools and areas where our kids and families shop and recreate. - A fellow Arlingtonian did some research on the County's zoning laws. The proposed location is zoned a “C-2” Service Commercial district, and it's just possible there might be a way to convince the Zoning Administrator that the gun store might be a bad fit for the district. A lot of "ifs" and unknowns, but before I approach either, having 2,000 signatures would send a strong message.
