Knox Council Domestic Animal Management Plan 2026-2029 comes up for vote early in 2026. First Council Meeting is on the 27th of January. All the Knox DAMP survey questions were only on dogs. Motion 187 action is for two years for better behaviour of Knox's unleashed, homed dogs. More-in-need homeless cats are given only one year to get desexed, and to find registered owners. Only Community Cat Program's high-intensity-targeted desexing works, and the savings are cumulative. More public money to be spent on dogs' two-year assessment, with only one-year allowed for cats - is thus doomed to fail with inadequate time. How does Knox expect to gain trust, with more inequality?
