Banyule's Councillors have voted to start killing more wildlife, more kittens, and to raise the cost-of-living for residents five-to-six times more.
Jenny Cotterell, who began Banyule's scientific, cost-effective, life-saving program, retired. Banyule put people in charge of animal management without knowledge. They could not understand why cat desexing should be free. They blocked access to free cat desexing. To enrol a cat you had to pay to fully register and microchip the cat before being eligible for desexing. The owner/ semi-owner had to pay a couple of hundred dollars up-front. So last financial year, Banyule handed-out only nine desexing vouchers. Now Banyule has made a cat curfew - against scientific evidence, against residents' and animals' welfare. Once a shining example, Banyule is now a killer Council, throwing away money and lives.
