Breaking news… the High Court have given us permission to go ahead with the Broadwalk Judicial Review! We submitted 5 issues that we believed needed to be investigated, and Judge Jarman has agreed that all 5 of them are legitimately concerning and should be explored by the High Court.
We have always believed that our case is strong, and today’s verdict is a hugely positive step forward for the campaign. We literally couldn’t have got this far without your support… the Judicial Review may be in my name, but this is a victory for all of us!
We are really hopeful - in light of the recent changes at Bristol City Council - that much more constructive dialogue will now be possible. And as we have always said, we would love to settle this out of court and prevent tax payers money being spent on defending a development that simply isn’t good enough for Knowle.
We now have to act quickly and only have 7 days to confirm that we want to proceed with the judicial review. This involves paying £770 in court fees so we need you to dig deep and give to our Crowdfunder, tinyurl.com/BroadwalkFund.
You’ve always shown us how much you care about Broadwalk and have never let us down before, so let’s raise the money, get the fee paid, and then we can celebrate this huge milestone in our fight against the Broadwalk tower blocks.
Big love
Laura
