Have you ever experienced destroying the enemy’s camp in Clash of Clans and then the screen suddenly turned into black? How about playing Color Switch and you’re halfway in beating the highest score then all of a sudden the screen froze? After a couple of seconds an advertisement would appear on your screen. Isn’t it so annoying?

Ads are a necessary evil. Many game applications are providing us with free service, content and software because someone else is paying them to keep them up. Therefore, the service provider has to serve advertisements to us in return for the income that is keeping them in business, and in development.

However, sometimes the ad placements and sizes can be really annoying, and sometimes causes the users’ phones to freeze or lag. There are advertisements that commonly appears at the bottom or at the top of the screen, which is basically okay. But the advertisements that occupies the entire screen? No way. It even has a count down before you will be able to click “exit”. We would want to ask the game developers to minimize the size of their pop-up advertisements.
