The Fisher Price Soothe & Glow Seahorse model with three batteries is a fire hazard. Multiple complaints have been filed with the Consumer Product Saftey Commission, but Fisher Price is refusing the recall the product because it is not a "substantial hazard" to the public.

When the batteries are replaced, parents have complained that the battery coils can heat up and begin to melt the plastic. The product has also been noted to get dangerously hot and start to smoke.

Fisher Price has issued a new version of the seahorse that only requires two batteries and that version doesn't seem to have the same problem. This is simply not enough. What about the three battery versions that are already in our homes? This product must be recalled! Do we really need a child to die or a house to burn down because of this? 

My children alone have five of the seahorses between our home and their Grandparents. My son would turn his on every night for the first two years of his life to go to sleep.

By signing my petition we can let Fisher Price know that this product does indeed pose a substatial hazard.
