The Context for Voice to the Disempowered....

In Judith Herman's brilliant book, Trauma and Recovery, she states that:
"To hold traumatic reality in consciousness requires a social context that affirms and protects the victim and that joins victim and witness in a common alliance."
The 5 decades if sexual abuse of children in Kirkwood schools required the opposite: a social context that protects the perpetrators and that separates victims from the witness, ostracizing them, humiliating them, denying them assistance and care and even blaming them for the crimes perpetrated against them.
To eradicate institutionalized, normalized, sexual abuse of Kirkwood children in an system that has provided it a fertile field, a movement by the people is vital, a political movement in this sense, determined to, as Herman states, "give voice to the disempowered."
This movement, not a movement tied to governmental political parties or ideologies, to right or left or progressive, but to human rights and specifically to the human rights of children, is rising. The movement has no president, nor chairperson, nor headquarters. It is organic. This movement has a single mission: saving the children and the survivors who were abused children by shutting down the systemic sexual abuse in this district.
Using strictly legal means, we proceed with letters, media interviews, word of mouth, social media posts and discussions as well as lawsuits, to STOP THE ABUSE at Kirkwood Schools. As a critical means of disseminating information and raising awareness as well as of displaying our numbers, we continue with our petition that, as of this post, has 820 signatures! Congratulations to all who have signed and a heartfelt thanks to each of you!
Signatories of this petition show that they care by acting upon their ethical positions relative to the protection of children. Care not acted upon is not care. CARE IS AN ACTION!
Thank you for acting! Thank you for signing this petition! Thank you for considering how you can share it to persons, to groups, make your social club aware of it, mention it in your book circles, church groups, post it at your yoga club, on public bulletin boards at coffee shops, etc. We will see 1000 soon and 3000 eventually.
820 this morning! 1000 in two more weeks tops!
