PPS 5: Planning for the Historic Environment

This is the updated law from PPG16 for protecting heritage sites and their surrounding environment. Being important for historic set and setting.

The valley that this proposal would sit in, is going to completely ruin the last un spoiled approach to Castle Hill Fort at Almondbury. The landscape here is a unique paddock area that has special recognizable terrain that identifies the area and sets a very charismatic scenario for the locale area. Its very important to preserve this aspect and the environmental impact will be severe and really spoil the look of this final remaining approach to the Castle Hill Hillfort that has not been reduced to urban encroachment. 

The flat lands highlight and enhance the woodlands and the line of the woods. With very beautiful charismatic trees, and grazing land that shapes the well recognized landscape of Fenay Bridge. And this is the start of the route that leads up through the edge of Almondbury to Farnley Tyas. 

Other Areas of Huddersfield have suffered a similar fate... To note, all along Berry Brow and Brockholes has lost its comparative paddocks in this manner. And it has completely transformed the entire landscape and appearance of these natural Valleys that contain streams and brooks.. flowing from the Pennine hills to meet with the Colne river and Calder. 

The reasons behind these developments are financially motivated and the funding amassed by these developers is considerable. The the time. Effort and Resources that the public have to expend to defend their cherished natural environment is not only financially challenging, but soul destroying. Especially when work and family takes up the majority of their time. And the developers have lawyers at their disposal and their paid job and focus is to remove and ruin the familiar, loved and appreciated historic environment that local people enjoy and take leisure in.

Especially when we are already acting to get special Area of outstanding natural beauty protection for this area.. there is going to be no outstanding natural beauty left to protect.

This area depends on and includes the proposal area of these HS2 and HS3 developments. Which will ruin and devastate the heritage protection plans that we are currently petitioning for. So this petition must include and extend to oppose this development as part of its action.

In fact it is absolutely of primary importance.

Also the council are seeking to expand King James School and Almondbury village with its small narrow and highly characterized ancient windy streets and side entrances is not appropriate for school traffic or children. No matter what infrastructure changes or modifications the council strategic planning team are attempting to insert, the entire idea is tempting fate and accidents. Which will lead to more and more changes, measures, modifications and installments.. really stealing from the charm of this charismatic village.

The village is there to be enjoyed "as is" 

To change it will be to take its soul and sense of place and the historic finely tuned aspects.

The development of the co-op and the upgrade of King James school and this planned housing development are also financially motivated and recent discoveries have found that there is real evidence that the forces at work behind all these developments could be being orchestrated by the same overriding entities and share holders. See these important videos:  https://youtu.be/ghP7kln and https://youtu.be/-pbJW026GEk these are very serious videos, but they help us understand how the combination of strategic approach and attack of development into an area is a team, such as the CO-OP and the School (council, political parties) and the developers HS2 and HS3 they really have the same financial links behind them and are being controlled and directed from behind the scenes together as if it were a military tactical motion on the area. Which is strategically very difficult to defend against. Because the council moves highly strategically stage by stage so that sometimes when it comes to decisions the damage is already done.. or has already started. And this can be soul destroying and psychologically defeating for the local people who may think that acting to defend their area is futile.

This is the now well established procedure tactics that the council uses in collaboration with the financially powerfull developers. Many of whom are owned by the same companies, have council contracts and links to the financial personal proffit of Ministers and the Peerage in the Lords. Such that having these proffit connections and interests is actually illegal under government law and regulations. Because political party affiliations thereby lead to unfair planning decisions and outcomes. No matter if Labour or Conservative, because the peerage is made up of both parties who all have profitable interests in the outcome of planning decisions, through buisness investments.

With this model, we are "at odds" to defend.

Which is why new proposals to planning have been announced where local communities will have more say in what happens to their local area.

Therefore this petition extends to and serves to protect the entire Almondbury and Fenay Bridge area from any further developments .  And serves to act to enhance and preserve the countryside we have and proliferate it for appreciation, approach and engagement with the Ancient Heritage, Iron Age hillfort Castle Hill and even extends to Rescue the Warrior Tomb hillfort and have it validated and acknowledged as a world heritage site of Brigantes tribe heritage. In fact due to the extraordinary landscape and set and setting of the majestic hillfort at Almondbury and the backdrop of the pennine ridge, this channel valley running up between Almondbury and Fenay Bridge to Farnley Tyas and all the surrounding woodland are critical to preverse this encironment. Taking into account that already the larger portion of natural Almondbury and Dalton has been lost to urban sprawl.

In fact this development area is a final defence to this Nationally, internationally area of archeological, geological and fundamental heritage surroundings. Where Wildlife, environmental factors and history will be at a great loss of appreciation and enjoyment for both visitors and locals alike.

The proffit of developers can not be permitted to destroy this ancient and very special heritage area that is critical to preserve the set and setting of this Iron age hillfort complex, that currently has and retains a very Arthurian Camelot feel to it, based on the visual extension of the landscape, to its full extent.. all the way through the valley and along the area where this development application is proposed.
