West Yorkshire Huddersfield is a REMARKABLE and INTERNATIONALLY CRITICAL HERITAGE SITE! completely under rated and snubbed by the entire Archaeology world, when they should have given it the recognition & protection it deserves.
A lack of insight, education and schooling of our areas true heritage has led us to be in a situation where our council are retarded to real understanding, care and vision. And an obsession and addiction to greed, food, products and technology has resulted in dramatic loss and unrestrained urban development that other towns would not be foolish enough to pursue to this extent. While real heritage buildings within the town centre pulled out like teeth and discarded. Leaving no memory or affiliation with "roots" of the town for young people to be inspired by.
We have been tricked, conned and taken advantage of. cheated of our heritage when others have made a gain and profit, to their own fortune.. all the while at a loss to local citizens. Our native and beautiful land has been vandalised and we have been set against each other, divided and intimately woven into a class system and "monster mess" where we hardly know who we are and where we are from. Or what hat we mean anymore.
These sites are all connected in meaning & symbology. It might not look like there was anything here, now.. but in prehistory this was the centre of a great civilisation & religious order. Equal to those still remembered and celebrated in Ireland for example at Newgrange and Knowth and as important and significant as Stonehenge. Yet we have had our memories erased and teased from us.... gradually piece by piece by a hierarchy.
We cannot allow the county to suffer any further. It has already gone too far. Kirklees council MUST BE STOPPED AT ALL COSTS we have grown TOO BIG ALREADY. such that it is self harming to our area & us.
