Save Copper Mountain Library

Save Copper Mountain Library
The Issue
Have you all heard? Due to the need for budget cuts in Killeen, our city council is considering CLOSING the Copper Mountain Killeen Library on W.S. Young Drive in Killeen! The budget should not be balanced on the backs of services to our children and free services the library offers to all members of the community.
"The library gets an average of 145 visitors per day, and provides more children’s services and programs than the main library, according to an email from Killeen spokeswoman Hilary Shine. “Like the main library, it also offers public computers most heavily used by homeschoolers, job seekers and military as they transition to and from Killeen,” she added." Killeen Daily Herald
Library staff said that they normally see 300 patrons a day, not 145 which means they service 1800 community members each week. Not all patrons can make the cross town commute to the downtown library.

Don't let the city council try to balance a deficit by removing a vital library to our city.
