A grieving family does not get an early release from its sentence.

A life taken can never be returned. 

If you kill, or knowingly participate in serious criminal conduct that results in someone being killed, the sentence imposed by the court must mean something. Prison overcrowding must NEVER become the reason those responsible for the gravest offences are released early.
