Petition updateKijiji Canada: Stop puppy mills and prohibit the sale of household pets @KijijiB.C. puppy mill operators handed 20-year animal ban

"A mother and daughter [near Houston, B.C.] who sold puppies and horses though online buy-and-sell marketplaces like Craigslist and Kijiji have been handed a 20-year ban on owning animals after pleading guilty to animal cruelty charges." Over one hundred pet stores across Canada have shown leadership and set an example by pledging not to sell animals. More cities are banning the sale of cats and dogs in pet stores, and the classified sites BuySellTrade.ca and UsedEverywhere.com have joined the ban. This is great, as it cuts off a major source of income for puppy mills and at the same time boosts animal adoptions in shelters and rescue groups, and reduces euthanasia of animals across Canada. There are too many healthy and friendly animals waiting to be adopted. Kijiji : When will you ban the commercial sale of animals and instead promote pet adoption? Do you want to help those who irresponsibly breed animals for profit or do you want to help pets? @BarbaraLapointe
