We appreciate the opportunity to speak to our position with respect to the Pets category on Kijiji. In reference to your recent petition update posted on December 2nd, Kijiji cannot comment publicly on the details of any client relationship for privacy and confidentiality reasons.
With that said, we are always receptive to valuable feedback offered by our user community and business partners. We recognize the important role that pets play in the lives of Canadians, and Kijiji is dedicated to helping to ensure that the rehoming of them is done safely. We’ve made significant investments toward the health and safety of the Pets category over the years through automated, human-led, and community-driven measures. These dedicated efforts have resulted in under 1% of Pets listings being identified as a security concern, and swift action is taken by Kijiji to keep these bad actors off our platform.
We will be continuing to work with animal welfare organizations to keep the safety of our site and the Pets community a top priority. Kijiji will also continue to deploy a series of strategies to solicit feedback from and create collaborative opportunities with a variety of animal welfare stakeholders. Our goal is to continue to identify and implement new measures as needed to help keep our communities safe. We would be glad to share more details with you as we progress in our action plan.
