Family Frontiers is in urgent need of funds to cover Malaysian mothers' initiative for equal citizenship rights. Our fundraising initiative can be found here: bit.ly/DonateToFF

On 9 September 2021, the High Court confirmed Malaysian women's equal rights as Malaysian men to automatically confer citizenship on their overseas-born children. However, the Malaysian government refuses to withdraw its appeal against the High Court judgment and insists on exhausting every judicial process while spending taxpayers’ money.

Starting 29 December 2021, the National Registration Department has begun accepting submissions under Article 14(1)(b)—Citizenship by Operation of Law—by Malaysian mothers, but no citizenship-related documents have been issued to any Malaysian mother on this basis. The Malaysian government has also not withdrawn the appeal, which is scheduled to be heard on 23 March 2022.

As such, we urgently need funds to cover case-related administrative costs and filing fees and to sustain the work of Family Frontiers.

You can help end the struggle of all impacted Malaysian mothers, who can no longer wait to provide their children with affordable education and healthcare, to get away from toxic/abusive marriages, to quell fears of family separation. They can no longer be kept in this limbo, uncertain about the future. They have endured enough!

We would like to thank our past donors for their contributions, which has immensely helped to sustain our advocacy initiatives. Once again, you may contribute financially through: bit.ly/DonateToFF

Additionally, please sign and share this Petition, urging the Government to #TarikBalikRayuan and uphold the High Court judgment without further delay.
