Bears in eastern Kentucky were hunted to extinction for no reason at all.  Now in the last decade they have made a come back in Appalachia only to face being killed this time with the blessing of Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife.  This is their natural habitat and shouldn't  be killed for sport.  At least give them the chance to populate the region again.  A good bear population would increase tourism in Kentucky where strip mining has all but destroyed its heritage.
