Keep pedestrian and cycle access on St. Peter's Bridge, Maidstone
Plans to develop the Powerhub site in Maidstone include the removal of the only cycle access to the town centre from the west side of the river into the town centre. This will cut off many people from being able to cycle into the town centre (including me), and make people on foot have to make large detours to cross the river. This scheme is completely inappropriate and extremely damaging for Maidstone.

Pedestrian and cycle access on St. Peter's Bridge, Maidstone, must be kept. To remove it will prevent many people from being able to access the town centre, and force pedestrians to take a large detour to cross the river. There is no doubt that the Powerhub needs to be regenerated, but to remove pedestrian and cycle access to the town centre is extremely damaging to Maidstone, and these plans cannot go ahead.
