When you own an animal who is petrified of fireworks you will truly understand the distress and trauma this causes them. I believe fireworks are used insensitively, constantly and are a danger to those who choose to use them at home. I believe from a safety perspective and from a community perspective that fireworks should be restricted to controlled and safety managed displays. This in my mind would reduce use of the emergency services if an incident was to occur at home whilst also ensuring young children, the elderly and animals didn’t have to endure the stress associated with fireworks. Fireworks aren’t for everyone, I don’t understand why they should be accessible for anyone over the age of 18 to purchase. I know this petition won’t be in agreement with everyone but I sincerely believe something has to change.
