Living down a country lane that used to be safe to walk and ride down, we now find ourselves in fear of being knocked over, also our animals run over. All because people treat it like a motorway and drive too fast thinking they have the power to see around corners. I'd like all country lanes to have a maximum speed limit of 40mph even thats too fast in places. Times have changed and these roads are no longer safe for the amount of cars that use them as rat runs. The picture is of my Grandsons cat Bambi who was hit and possibly dragged along under a car that didn't even stop. He's lucky to be alive albeit now with three legs, he is the 2nd cat of ours hit in 3 months, sadly the first didn't make it. Slower speeds would make this less likely to happen, next time it could be a person.
