Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, "Houston's trusted healthcare source," contracts with Luby's Culinary Services; a food service company with a dirty secret. Luby's uses eggs from cruel, filthy, and unsustainable battery cage-farms. Battery cage farms pack egg-laying hens so tightly into tiny wire cages that they can’t even spread out their wings or engage in any of their natural behaviors.

This practice is so cruel that it is illegal in the entire European Union and several states in the US. In the last few months we have seen over 35 food service providers commit to ending their support of this archaic practice; from the largest, - Aramark, Sodexo and Compass Group - to several smaller companies, including Sterling Spoon Culinary Management, Opaa! Food Management, Creative Dining Services and RMA Hospitality Management. It’s an issue where food service leaders, environmental organizations, food safety organizations, and animal welfare organizations have all been saying one thing – and Luby's Culinary Services has been doing the opposite.

Why then is Kelsey-Seybold Clinic contracting with a food service company like Luby's?  By contracting with Luby's, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic is directly supporting this cruel practice.
