UK Defence Secretary confirms British military involvement following Iran's retaliatiative strikes on Israel last night (1st October).
In a carefully worded statement on Tuesday night, John Healey said: “British forces have this evening played their part in attempts to prevent further escalation in the Middle East.”
Whilst the UK government have not provided any further detail to the extent of their involvement, a Times Newspaper article suggests that RAF units engaged drones and ground units.
Healey's statement is disingenuous. The UK could have avoided escalation by not publicly backing and ceasing to trade arms with Israel.
The active involvement of British military forces in the conflict now escalates the situation further, firmly bringing the UK into the conflict.
NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT.
Lobby your MP, tell them you do not consent to UK military forces' involvement in the conflict. This brings our country into a state of war with a foreign nation.
Share with your friends, get talking about this, ask them to sign petitions.
Go to local supermarkets and peacefully protest. Demand the removal of Israeli goods from sale. BDS organisations in Northern Ireland are daily removing Israeli goods from supermarket shelves and labelling them with #stop funding genocide stickers.
Stay safe, and keep speaking up.
