Progetti con conseguenze così importanti richiedono trasparenza totale e partecipazione reale delle comunità interessate.

Trasparenza nei processi autorizzativi
Analisi dei rischi accessibili al pubblico
Piani di emergenza dettagliati
Coinvolgimento delle comunità locali
Il futuro della Groenlandia orientale non può essere deciso senza i suoi abitanti.
Le nostre richieste
Chiediamo al Governo della Groenlandia, alle autorità competenti e alle aziende coinvolte di:
1. Fermare immediatamente tutti i progetti di trivellazione petrolifera e del gas nella Groenlandia orientale.
2. Vietare in modo permanente l'estrazione industriale di petrolio e gas nella regione di Scoresby Sund e nelle aree circostanti.
3. Istituire vaste aree protette nei fiordi, nelle acque costiere e nelle zone selvagge della Groenlandia orientale.
4. Vietare per legge progetti petroliferi, del gas e altre attività estrattive industriali all'interno di tali aree protette.
5. Garantire diritti speciali di tutela e partecipazione alla popolazione di Ittoqqortoormiit e proteggere le tradizioni locali di caccia, pesca e cultura.
6. Assicurare la partecipazione vincolante delle comunità locali in tutte le decisioni che riguardano il loro territorio.
7. Investire in alternative sostenibili come conservazione della natura, ricerca scientifica, educazione e turismo responsabile.
Il nostro appello
Nel mondo esistono ancora pochissimi luoghi come Scoresby Sund.
Un paesaggio di ghiaccio, montagne, fiordi e fauna straordinaria.
Se non lo proteggiamo prima dell'arrivo delle trivelle, potrebbe essere troppo tardi.
L'Artico non è un deposito di risorse.
È un patrimonio naturale unico da preservare per le generazioni future.
Scoresby Sund vale più di qualsiasi barile di petrolio.
