Für Kultur und Begegnung im ehemaligen Cinestar-Kino am Treptower Park

Das ehemalige Kino am Treptower Park steht leer.

9 Kinosäle, ein großer Bürotrakt und jede Menge Raum und Freifläche sind ungenutzt, seit Cinestar im Januar 2026 den Standort aufgegeben hat.

Aroundtown S.A., der Besitzer der Immobilie, führt trotz ernsthafter Mietanfragen und Vorlage eines Konzepts für eine gemeinnützige Zwischennutzung durch die Initiative Traumfabrik Treptow keine ernsthaften Verhandlungen mit uns.

Offensichtlich setzt der Eigentümer auf Leerstand, anstatt die Räume für eine kulturelle und gemeinwesenorientierte Zwischennutzung zu vermieten.

Der Treptower Norden braucht ein gemeinnütziges Kultur- und Begegnungszentrum!

Wir fordern Aroundtown S.A. auf, den Leerstand zu beenden und sich konstruktiv an einer Lösung für die Zwischennutzung der Immobilie zu beteiligen!

Die Initiative Traumfabrik Treptow besteht seit Sommer 2025 als ein Zusammenschluss aus ehemals Beschäftigten und Aktiven aus der Nachbarschaft des Kinos. Wir haben ein Konzept für eine kulturelle und gemeinwesenorientierte Zwischennutzung vorgelegt, mit dem wir uns als neue Mieter*innen der Immobilie beworben haben. Doch anstatt in ernsthafte Verhandlungen mit uns einzusteigen, lässt Aroundtown S.A. das Gebäude leerstehen.

Die Initiative Traumfabrik Treptow steht für ehrenamtliches gesellschaftliches Engagement.
Unsere Initiative arbeitet gemeinwesenorientiert und nicht-kommerziell.

Wir arbeiten für:

• den gemeinnützigen Erhalt des Kinospielbetriebs und die Ausweitung des Kulturangebots um Konzerte, Theater und Performances in den  Kinosälen und auf den Freiflächen
• die Förderung von Soziokultur durch Vermietung von Proberäumen und Spielflächen für Bands, Workshops und kreative Gruppen
• die Bereitstellung von Räumen für Veranstaltungen und Bildungsinitiativen
• die Einrichtung eines Begegnungszentrums für die Nachbarschaft ohne Konsumzwang
• die Bereitstellung von Räumen für soziale gemeinnützige Initiativen, Selbsthilfe, Selbstorganisierung und Nachbarschaftsprojekte
• Bildung eines lokalen Netzwerks aus Kulturschaffenden, Kreativen und Initiativen der Gemeinwesen- und Bildungsarbeit, denn der Bedarf an bezahlbaren Räumen für Projekte und Initiativen ist groß

Leerstand ist nicht hinnehmbar

Deswegen bitten wir um die Unterzeichnung dieser Petition, mit der wir den Wunsch und Bedarf einer Vielzahl von Menschen und Initiativen nach kulturell und gemeinwesenorientiert genutzten Räumen sichtbar machen, wie es auch schon unsere Erstunterzeichnende getan haben. 

Unser gemeinsames Ziel ist die Erhaltung des Kinos als Kultur- und Begegnungsort.

Petition: For Culture and Community at the former Cinestar Cinema in Treptower Park

The former cinema at Treptower Park is standing empty. Since Cinestar vacated the premises in January 2026, 9 cinema halls, a large office wing, and a wealth of open space have remained unused. Despite serious rental inquiries and a comprehensive concept for non-profit interim use submitted by the initiative Traumfabrik Treptow, the property owner, Aroundtown S.A., refuses to enter into genuine negotiations. It appears the owner prefers the property to remain vacant rather than making the space available for cultural and community-oriented use.

Treptower Norden needs a non-profit cultural and community hub! We call upon Aroundtown S.A. to end the vacancy and engage constructively in finding a solution for the interim use of the property!

The Traumfabrik Treptow initiative was formed in the summer of 2025 by a group of former employees and local residents. We have submitted a concept for cultural and community-oriented interim use and applied as the new tenants. Yet, instead of entering into serious negotiations, Aroundtown S.A. is letting the building sit empty.

Traumfabrik Treptow stands for voluntary civic engagement. Our initiative is community-oriented and non-commercial.

We are working toward:

• Preserving the cinema: Maintaining film screenings while expanding the cultural program to include concerts, theater, and performances in the cinema halls and open spaces.
• Promoting socio-culture: Providing affordable rehearsal rooms and performance spaces for bands, workshops, and creative groups.
• Community space: Providing rooms for events, educational initiatives, and creating a neighborhood meeting point without the pressure to consume.
• Supporting social initiatives: Providing space for non-profit organizations, self-help groups, grassroots organizing, and local community projects.
• Building a network: Creating a local network of artists, creatives, and initiatives dedicated to community and educational work, as the demand for affordable space for these projects is immense
