In just 24 hours, @keepamityhuman on Instagram reached 150 followers. That's students, parents, teachers, and community members all coming together to oppose AI grading at Amity. That's 150 people in one day who saw what's happening and said "not on my watch."
But we need to keep the momentum going.
Right now, this petition has 66 signatures. If every single person reading this shares it with just 3 friends, we could push past 250 signatures before Thursday. Three friends. That's it. Text them. DM them. Call them.
Dr. Byars and the Board of Education vote soon on funding for AI grading platforms, including Class Companion, SchoolAI, Magic School AI. Tools that:
- Get student grades wrong
- Fund ICE operations through OpenAI contracts
- Consume energy equivalent to entire countries
- Violate student data privacy
- Create a double standard (students can't use AI, but the school can use it to grade us?)
Every signature on this petition is another voice they can't ignore. Every share is another person learning what's happening. Every tag is pressure building. The Board is hoping this goes away if they stay quiet long enough. Let's prove them wrong.
