In this last week the media has started to cover this story again & help push for more information.
I spoke with CBC Radio & Castanet Kamloops & appreciate the additional coverage they have put forward. (article linked at the bottom)
What stands out the most is that Interior Health is working to secure a funding contract and that these contracts can take time to come to an agreement. The pressure and attention on this issue is helping to expedite things but there is no formal agreement or quick fix to the staffing issues - we need to keep the pressure on until we have answers.
I was shocked to find out we need 4 doctors to fill the staffing issue - I thought it would’ve been more.
What can you do?
- Write to our officials - they NEED to hear from you that this is something you want to see changed
- Keep sharing the petition - it takes some people 7 times seeing a petition before they sign it
- Keep talking about this closure - it’s important for Kamloops & our surrounding communities that we push for this clinic
