Our retirees need COLA more than ever! They were misled their entire career thinking they would get COLA, once they retired. Even I was misled, after being ambushed and shot in the line of duty, which led to my disability. I always believed, I would receive a COLA! It was far from the truth! That’s why I have been so passionate about dedicating my time to helping retirees and the disabled! I will not stop fighting for what’s right! NJ Retirees, deserve COLA reinstated, after a 11 year suspension! The longest suspension a State has ever implemented! We are the highest taxed State in the US. Many retirees’ social security payments are reduced, because of their pension. Our healthcare costs keep increasing year after year! Elderly retirees are living near poverty levels! We have had requests for help and will do whatever it takes to get our retirees the help that they were promised upon retiring. Governor Chris Christie promised not to touch our pensions if he was elected and did just the opposite! See the attached letter below from his campaign!
