A letter and a phone call from Bill English and diplomatic relations are restored. The Israeli embassy remains open and Ambassador Itzhak Gerberg is returning to NZ. Why did it take so long for English to respond? We can only guess. The main thing is that Ambassador Gerberg is returning and we can set about rebuilding trust with Israel.
