Community input on John S. Schoenhals resentencing

Dear friends of Mark Wallace and community members who signed the petition to keep Mark’s killer in prison,

The resentencing hearing for Mark’s killer is approaching quickly. It is currently scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2026. Anyone who knew Mark, or anyone in the community affected by John S. Schoenhals’ crime, is welcome to submit an impact statement for the Honorable Judge Tanya Thorp to consider.

These impact statements, which will be public, should be submitted to wendy.ross@kingcounty.gov

Wendy Ross will remove any street addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses once they are received for privacy reasons. She is the Victim Advocate Supervisor in the Criminal Division of the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Impact statements can be submitted in email or Microsoft Word format.

Please include “State v. Schoenhals” or “Mark Wallace” in the subject line for organization purposes.

The deadline to send the impact statement is no later than Wednesday at noon on November 4, 2026.
