4-3 Vote Will Be Appealed - Let's Send a Message With 1,000+ Signatures

1,000 signatures by December 31st?   We can do this.   Here's how, and why it's important.

Within only a week, this petition has received over 350 signatures - a huge response!   As a result of your involvement, this petition was mentioned during the December 5th Minneapolis Planning Commission's hearings about the proposal.   The vote came out as 4-3 in favor of the proposed office building, with 2 abstentions.   It was approved, but it was close. 

What's happening next?   With the hard work of Linden Hills residents, two separate appeals against this decision are being developed and each will address different aspects of why this design is not right for 43rd and Upton.  The next meetings to address these two formal appeals will be held early next year. 

Why do we need 1,000+ signatures?   

We need an eyebrow raiser number.   We need to speak up together so that the Linden Hills Neighborhood Council Zoning and Housing Committee can say with confidence there are FAR MORE than a "vocal 25% who oppose this" (according to the developer). 

We need to show the developer that Linden Hills' small town character needs to be celebrated as a destination driver which is differentiated from 50th and France's more modern look.   It is smarter for business. 

We need to tell the Minneapolis City Council and City Planners that this design is NOT in line with our Small Area Plan.
