Petition results with regards to Cornwall Councils consultation on the "off street parking order"

Dear Affected Councillors & Members of the Consultation Committee,

F.A.O all Councillors involved in the current parking consultation, especially those representing the Helston & Lizard areas.

Please find attached the results of the petition containing 4049 signatures regarding the Fairground Car Park in Helston. The petition has received strong & widespread support, reflecting the high level of public interest & concern on this matter. While the Fairground Car Park is the focus of this petition, it is clear that the feelings expressed are very similar across the county & affect other car parks in the area as well.

By way of introduction, I myself stood as candidate last May for Cornwall Council, while continuing to serve as a Parish Councillor as well as currently being interim Chair for the Reform UK St Ives constituency.

I have deliberately kept this petition & campaign non-political.

I therefore respectfully ask that any decisions made take into account the views of the local community rather than political considerations.

It's also worth noting that if charges were to be introduced for the Fairground Car Park, people paying for its use would reasonably expect it to be properly maintained, with smooth surfaces & no potholes, which would require considerable investment costing thousands.
