Keep Dorothy Laver Reserve As Is

0 have signed. Let’s get to 5,000!

This petition is to urge Boroondara Council to abandon the proposal to turn Dorothy Laver Reserve (DLR) into an artificial turf facility.
There are a range of issues with this proposition that make DLR unsuitable for this proposal.
These include:
* Flooding challenges
* Loss of open grassed space
* DLR is an environmentally sensitive site - alongside Gardiner's Creek and beside Stonnington Wetlands Conservation Reserve
* Parking and Traffic access issues
* Increased heat issues from artificial surfaces
* Increased noise from Monash Freeway - immediately beside the area

Please lend your voice to this petition, particularly if you are a local resident or a user of Dorothy Laver Reserve.  If you pay rates and vote within Boroondara then let YOUR councillors know that this will impact your likelihood of supporting their candidacy at the next Council elections.  We freely encourage you to also email your ward councillor to let them know your opposition to this development.

NOTE: After signing, will ask if you want to "Chip In" money to promote the petition. Please note that this is a default setting - any money you choose to chip in goes to and not towards Saving Dorothy Laver Reserve. It funds the petition being shown more prominently on the site but as our petition is a very local issue we don't think this is necessary. We do recommend that you choose the option to "Share" the petition and promote its existence to as many local people as you can. Thanks for your Support!!
