We wanted to share some important information we learned about who the correct decision maker is for this petition.

Dollar Tree is the owner of the property in question, which is currently zoned for commercial use. Due to the way Texas law protects property owner rights, this means that San Antonio city officials and planning authorities do not have jurisdiction over whether Dollar Tree can move forward with building the new store in Encino Park.

However, this does not mean your voice doesn’t matter—it just means that the focus of your efforts should be on persuading Dollar Tree directly. They are the primary decision maker with the authority to change course.
