Dear Friends,

Thank you again for your support and for signing our petition! A total of 470 Park Slope residents came together to show Barnes & Noble employees and patrons just how much their local bookstore means to the community.

We’re happy to share the good news: Barnes & Noble in Park Slope is staying! The store has renewed its lease and will temporarily close in July for approximately three months for essential renovations (escalators, elevators, etc.).

Our petition reached the CEO and the management team, and both the staff and local management expressed deep gratitude and relief. We truly believe our collective voice made a difference. Many community members were ready to take further action—organizing protests to show their support, contacting the press—but thanks to your engagement, the petition proved to be a strong and effective tool in showing that we cared.
